Vision
Crusaid’s vision is of a world where poor and marginalised people affected by HIV and AIDS can live with dignity and have a decent quality of life.
To achieve this in the UK, Crusaid aims to expand the services provided by the Crusaid Hardship Fund to enable people living with HIV or AIDS to move out of poverty permanently and to improve their quality of life.
Overseas Crudaid supports groundbreaking new programmes that enable whole communities to improve their quality of life in the fight against HIV and AIDS. Such projects are on every scale, from small community-led projects through to large health infrastructure initiatives.
Crusaid in the UK
Crusaid’s response in the UK is focused on the Crusaid Hardship Fund and they are working to expand the reach of the Fund and the range of services available.
Apart from the Crusaid Hardship Fund, they have from time to time provided support for organisations that provide services to people living with HIV and AIDS to help those organisations extend their reach and increase the impact that they have on the HIV epidemic.
Crusaid International
Crusaid was founded to support those who need help most. With the growing HIV infection and poverty rates in the developing world, Crusaid began to offer aid and assistance internationally in 1999 with a small portfolio of projects amounting to £30,000. In 2007, it funded over £110,000 worth of international projects and continues to increase its activities on a global basis.
Crusaid is committed to helping communities take ownership of the fight against HIV and AIDS so that they can improve their quality of life. Crusaid has funded many different projects that have helped to achieve this aim. Currently they provide support through the Points of Light programme.
Quote
“Crusaid is thoroughly excited at the concept of Poker Ethical. It is a highly generous and open minded idea to give back to charities whilst having fun. Money raised from players in Poker Ethical will go towards helping poor and marginalised people affected by HIV and AIDS in the UK and in Southern Africa.”
