Wsop stands up for charity!
The World Series of poker are in full swing right now in Las Vegas. However, players and organizers have not forgotten that outside of casinos, many people are still in the need. While some players, like Barry Greinstein, often give a part of their tournament winnings to charities, the 2010 WSOP edition brings on its fair amount of surprises. Indeed, we have seen Shaun Deeb, the online whiz kid, dressed as a lady and participating to the Ladies Event! Some people has been shocked. « How is this possible?

CRUSAID comes on board
Crusaid is an international charity that supports poor and marginalised people affected by HIV and AIDS. Crusaid aims to relieve the poverty caused by HIV and AIDS, improve the health and care of people living with HIV and by educate young people about the risks of the illness. In the UK, Crusaid focuses its work on the Crusaid Hardship Fund which provides financial support to people living in poverty with HIV and AIDS. Many people seeking help from the Fund have a weekly income of only £50 ($80).

A summary of the 2009 WSOP results (part 6)
Let’s have a look at event #26 through #30 today. But as I’m stupidly stuck with my habits, I would recommend that we jump back to year 1980. At that time the WSOP were dominated by experienced Texan players (Doyle Brunson, Amarillo Slim, etc…). A young guy called Stu Ungar could not play his favorite game (gin rummy) anymore as a lot of opponents would not take part in tournaments if they knew he was playing

Did you know that you wee no longer obliged to travel to Las Vegas to win WSOP bracelets? Indeed, since 2007 the WSOPE (as in Europe) have been held in London every month of September. Contrary to what you could imagine, it may actually be tougher to get a WSOPE bracelet than to win a bracelet in Vegas as the Casinos in Europe...
