About Crusaid
Crusaid is an international charity that supports poor and marginalised people affected by HIV and AIDS. Crusaid aims to relieve the poverty caused by HIV and AIDS, improve the health and care of people living with HIV and by educate young people about the risks of the illness.
In the UK, Crusaid focuses its work on the Crusaid Hardship Fund which provides financial support to people living in poverty with HIV and AIDS. Many people seeking help from the Fund have a weekly income of only £50 ($80).
Since 1986, the Crusaid Hardship Fund has awarded over 45,000 grants, distributed £8.5 million in grants, supported one in three people diagnosed with HIV in the UK and is the single largest source of financial assistance for people living with HIV and AIDS in the UK.
Internationally, Crusaid focuses on Southern Africa as this is the region most affected by HIV and AIDS where they can make the biggest difference. Crusaid designs and implements projects based on the needs of the community that promote awareness and testing, education, tackle discrimination and stigma and the promote employment opportunities.
How PokerEthical Funds Are Used
